1st Moontime Ceremonial Rite

For those of us who journey through this life in a female body, we cross our thresholds of initiation through our body. The onset of our menses, the cessation of menses, and giving birth as our 3 main biological passages*.

The start of one’s moontime (onset of menses) is our first large rite of passage after being born.

In a healthy culture, we test our girls, help them stretch into a bigger version of themselves, ready to meet the fullness of life’s challenges and then we celebrate them with our community ~ for coming into the stage of life that holds the privilege and responsibility to carry and continue life! Many of us do not have the experience of being held in a community or inside of an intact culture; yet the longing is still there. Our deeper self knows that we deserve this beautiful rite.

Here, within Tree of Life, we aim to reclaim a healthy cultural experience by noticing the pains of what has gotten missed and then doing something about it!

Through deep and direct Spiritual guidance, Rachel Ruach has brought through a beautiful, powerful, and meaningful First Moon Time Honoring Ceremony. This ceremony comes through Rachel’s Hebrew & European Blood Lineage along with Current time Spirit Connection. The ceremony is held in a 3 day container and involves an overnight solo, a collectively held sacred fire, the initiate “Dancing Her Star”, and feeding her ancestors and supporters in a Celebratory Feast.

This ceremony can be held individually and in a group. It can also both be enacted for women who want to retro-actively claim this rite for themselves AND for girls who are headed through this precious threshold.

* Not all of us who journey in a female body participate in these biological realities. Spirit holds hands through the rites of life in powerful and unique ways as defined by each person’s unique path. And we all get to have a relationship to the moon and to birth, whether we are birthing humans or other creative projects.
